Tofu Skewers

Recipe by Prahran Market

  • 640 grams of firm or extra firm tofu
  • 1 green capsicum, seeds removed and roughly chopped
  • 1 yellow capsicum, seeds removed and roughly chopped
  • 2 red onions, cut into wedges
  • Marinade:
  • 2 tbsp cup sugar
  • 2 tbsp tamari soy sauce
  • 2 cloves of garlic, crushed
  • Juice of half a lime
  • 1 tbsp sesame oil
  • 2cm piece of ginger, finely grated
  1. Combine marinade ingredients in a bowl with salt and pepper. Whisk thoroughly. Add vegetables and tofu, shake/stir through marinade.
  2. Preheat barbecue to high.
  3. Thread ingredients alternatingly on a bamboo skewer. Brush over with remaining marinade. Reserve any leftover marinade.
  4. Grill your tofu skewers for 5 minutes while rotating and brushing with leftover marinade, until tofu is golden brown.
