- Place the butter in a saucepan and melt over medium heat until it begins to brown.
- Add the fruit and brandy/rum to the pan and cook over a low heat for 5 minutes.
- Do not over heat as the mixture may ignite. If this happens, cover the pan with a lid and remove from the heat in that order.
- Remove from the heat, then beat the flour into the mixture, followed by the sugar, milk and then the eggs.
- Pour the mixture into 6 small, well-greased bowls and cover them with foil or baking paper.
- Seal the covers with rubber bands. Pour 3cm of water into a large pan and place the puddings in the water.
- Cover the pan with foil, then bring the water up to a simmer and cook the puddings for 25 minutes. Take out and allow to cool.
- Sprinkle your simple Christmas puddings with icing sugar and top with a glace cherry and holly leaves.

- 30g butter
- 1/2 cup milk
- 2 eggs
- 1 cup of the Sweet and Nut Shop’s Christmas dried fruit mix
- 2 tbsp brandy
- 1/4 cup icing sugar
- Glace cherries for garnish
- Holly leaves for garnish
