In the case of forecast temperatures above 38 degrees Celsius, Market Management may invoke its ‘Extreme Heat Policy’.
This gives Traders the option of closing their stalls early to protect unrefrigerated fresh produce and for OH&S reasons.
Signs are installed at the entrances to the Market on a day when that temperature is expected to be reached.
Closures will be announced via the Market’s PA system when the policy is being invoked and from what time.
The policy may be enforced on a day-by-day basis and at varying times during a trading day, so we are not able to specify times here.
